Thank you for your interest in applying to Young Scholars Charter School. We are currently accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. Applications will be accepted for students who are (1) residents of City of Philadelphia and (2) will successfully complete 5th or 6th grade by August, 2012.

Young Scholars Admissions Process

STEP ONE

Complete and submit the application & all required documents in person or by mail by 5:00pm on March 9, 2012.  An application can be downloaded here or picked up at one of our information sessions.

STEP TWO

We recommend that families attend an information session to learn more about Young Scholars Charter School.  Information sessions will be held on the following dates (RSVP Required):

  • Saturday, January 14, 2012:  11-12:30PM
  • Saturday, January 28, 2012:  11-12:30PM
  • Saturday, February 4, 2012:   11-12:30PM
  • Saturday, February 18, 2012: 11-12:30PM

STEP THREE

Enrollment at Young Scholars: Because we are not selective, if there are more applicants than spaces available, students will be entered into a lottery and chosen at random. Entry into our lottery is contingent upon all components of the application being present by March 9th. Young Scholars’ lottery will be held on March 14th. Students not selected in the lottery will be placed on our waitlist.

STEP FOUR

Acceptance/Waitlist letters will be mailed on Friday, March 16, 2012.  If a student is admitted, parents must submit all of the enrollment materials prior to the first day of school.
